According to US census bureau

  • College graduates earn an average of 62% more income than non-college graduates
  • Graduates with an advanced degree earn 98% more income than non-college graduates

Adding a college degree to your resume is a smart move. Unlike the IT certifications, college degrees never expire. Most employers require a college degree in order to be even considered for the job.

Today many colleges and universities offer online degree programs where you can earn an associates, bachelors or masters degree online in computer science or business, while working full time. Some colleges will even give you college credits for having your MCSE certification.

Research comparing distance education to traditional face-to-face instruction indicates that teaching and studying at a distance can be as effective as traditional instruction.

Basic requirements for online courses include:

  • Be self-motivated, self-disciplined, and independent
  • Be able and willing to meet deadlines
  • Regular access to a computer with an Internet connection (high speed connection preferred, but even a modem connection is enough)
  • Must know how to use web browser (Looks like you already know)
  • Ability to download, install, and do basic troubleshooting of computer software
  • Some colleges require that you have a full time job and at least 23 years of age in order to participate in their online degree programs.

All colleges and universities listed here are ACCREDITED, which means the degree you earn is real! Many of these colleges/universities have the same instructors teaching online as well as at the main campus.
